“Human beings have this tendency of struggling to keep themselves from being overwhelmed by the tribe. Hence the reason many people never think for themselves or stand on their own two feet.
Sometimes it’s easier just to go with the flow, to subscribe to mindless ideologies, to do what everyone else is doing and strive to just ’fit in’.
Taking responsibility insists we dismiss what’s popular for what’s good, true and real. Living life like this means you will be lonely often and frequently outside your comfort zone.
It’s between the comfort zone and the safety zone that we grow in maturity, decisiveness, consistency and strength – as we get comfortable with being uncomfortable and resisting what’s easy.
There’s no too high a price for the privilege of owning one’s life and experiencing the excitement that accompanies living apart from the status quo.
