Power over Pain

If you have chronic pain, or if you have built up a tolerance for pain medication we can help you manage your pain with hypnosis.

POWER OVER PAIN

There are many pain medications on the market today. We are bombarded by ads on TV and in magazines telling us how they will ease our pain. At the end of the ad there is usually a disclaimer telling about the risks such as heart attacks, strokes and other cardiovascular problems and under what circumstances not to take the particular medication.

Taking prescription or nonprescription medications for chronic pain, all have potential side effects such as allergic reaction, diabetes, dizziness, drowsiness, nausea, diarrhea, stomach upset, and constipation, can take weeks to have an effect, and in some instances even create dependency!

Why take medications that can cause other illnesses when there is an alternative method for achieving pain relief?

Because thoughts and emotions can and do affect pain, hypnotherapy provides the behavioral modification that is often needed to effect change. More and more hypnosis is gaining respect from medical and psychological professionals, many of whom refer their patients for hypnotherapy.

During hypnosis the subject is better able to concentrate intensely on a particular thought or feeling leaving them open to the suggestions that can eliminate or change the level of pain. There is no loss of consciousness, personality, free will or personal strength and subjects are alert and aware of all that is going on around them. A willingness to experience hypnosis is important to its success. Some have referred to hypnosis as a mental massage!

Hypnosis can be effective in the treatment of chronic pain such as headaches, childbirth arthritis, fibromyalgia, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, dental and surgical procedures just to name a few. It is a naturally occurring state and has been approved by the American Medical Association since 1958.

Hypnotherapy does not take the place of medical care and anyone taking medications should consult with their physician before making any changes in dosages.

A+ Hypnosis has been serving clients for over 21 years and has an excellent record of success. All hypnotherapists are Board Certified by the National Guild of Hypnotists  and are available to help manage your pain. Call to schedule an appointment and experience the benefits of hypnosis.
