Woman says hypnosis helped her conceive

OMAHA,  Neb. —An Omaha woman who struggled to become pregnant credits hypnosis  for ending her fight against fertility.

It’s a special time for  Crystal Pearon and her husband.  They are awaiting the birth of their first  child, after a long and expensive fight.

Desperate to become a  mother, Pearon went through ovulation medications, in vitro fertilization and  four rounds of insemination.  After seven years and $40,000, the Pearons  still were not pregnant.

“There was a time when I  didn’t really know if I wanted to live life if I couldn’t be a mom,” Pearon told  KETV Newswatch 7’s Melissa Fry.

Depress and losing hope,  Pearon decided to try one last round of in vitro, but added something:  hypnosis.  She chose fertility hypnotist Karin John, a medical professional  with 25 years of experience in obstetrics and gynecology.

John says 30 percent of  women have no known reason why they cannot conceive.  John believes stress  is to blame.

“It changes dramatically,  the biochemical rhythm of the body,” said John.  “The process needed for  conception and birth is not there.”

Pearon also studied  science; she works as a neurological nurse at the Nebraska Medical Center.   She knows the brain controls the body.

“When you’re in that  panic, stress mode, your body doesn’t provide the blood flow to the reproductive  organs that you require to create a baby,” said Pearon.
